T-Mobile agreed to pay $ 350 million to resolve the 2022 lawsuit, and the money eventually begins to find its way for damaged customers.
Class action petition was filed following a cyber attack on August 2021 against T-Mobile. Approximately 76 million T-Mobile customers endangered their personal data-including name, address and social security numbers-in the attack.
According to the settlement manager, after years of delay, payments related to the Class Action Action petition will begin access to customers in April.
Those who are eligible to receive payment must be notified in 2022. The size of the payment will vary depending on the amount of time and cost the customer has lost as a result of data violations.
The biggest payment is $ 25,000, although it is reserved for people who have “spent money to prevent or recover a fraud or identity theft that you think can be tracked for violating T-Mobile data.”

Customers who have not claimed to be out of pocket may still receive part of the settlement, which will only be significantly less than those who have done. For example, if you did not claim any damage but you can prove that you have been affected by this violation, you may receive $ 25 or even $ 100 for those who lived in California in breach.
It may even receive this amount of money because these are the maximum payments – most recipients are even less than $ 25.
Much of the $ 350 million T-Mobile is paid to cover the cost of attorney and administrative costs.
After paying legal fees, customers who have proven out of the pocket are prioritized. When they all paid, the remainder of the money to anyone else at the time was the T-Mobile customer as “Pro Rata”.
The deadline for submission was approved on January 23, 2023. Anyone who has not claimed until then does not receive class action from the petition.
