British tourists have been banned from returning to Easter from the return of meat and dairy products from Europe.
According to new rules, passengers returning to England will not be able to carry beef, pork, lamb, mutton, venom, goat or dairy.
This means that tourists traveling to the continent for Easter holidays can no longer be able to return small amounts of cheese and meat – such as the French wedge or a German sausage – to give gifts or enjoy the return.
The government warned: “If you are traveling from Easter weekends before going, check what you can and can’t get back.”
A post on X, previously Twitter, sought to express the impact of Brexit in these changes, stressing that “protecting farmers from spreading foot and mouth disease” was among the increase in the continent. There are currently nothing in the UK.
“The government is doing everything it does to protect British farmers against legs and mouth,” said Agriculture Minister Daniel Zicherner.
“For this reason, we strengthen the support by introducing restrictions on importing meat and dairy to prevent the spread of the disease and protect British food security.”
