There is still € 10m between Arsenal and Leipzig in Benjamin Sesko, as London club staff have also discussed the potential action for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke.
Michael Artta wants an attacker as a priority this summer, and Sesko is the main goal and all parties are currently interested in dealing.
However, the two clubs were looking for the best possible result. While the Sesko release clause reaches more than 80 million euros, Arsenal is looking to make a deal on installments, which is currently around 70 million euros.
Leipzig has not seen a budget so far, but the Arsenal hierarchy knows that the Bundesliga club are pressured as they do not guarantee the Champions League football for the next season.
Viktor Gyokers Sporting is a remaining option, while Arsenal is basically discussing both potential transfers simultaneously.
Arsenal has also talked to Chelsea about a potential move for Noni Madueke, as the Stamford Bridge hierarchy predicts another summer of high activities. Brazilian Estevao’s PalmeiriRS is set to create more competition for places at MareSca’s front line.
However, Chelsea wants £ 50m for Maduke, which is not the price that Arsenal wants to go right now. It is likely that a deal will be revived later in summer.
