If there’s one thing privacy-conscious savers should take advantage of during Black Friday sales, it’s subscribing to a VPN, or virtual private network. They’re not flashy by any means, but they make your online activity a little more private, whether it’s preventing sites or your ISP from tracking you around the web, or helping you access your favorite streaming services while traveling abroad.
It’s very cheap right now, subscriptions to some of the best VPNs and the best budget VPNs on the web are going down hard on Black Friday, and the deals are already kicking in this year. While we’re still a few weeks away from the big sales event, both Surfshark and NordVPN have jumped on the bandwagon and dropped subscription prices to one of the lowest prices I’ve ever seen.
They’re not the only VPN providers expected to see price cuts in this year’s Black Friday sales. ExpressVPN has confirmed that it will drop prices for Black Friday, and I expect to see Proton VPN prices drop too, here’s everything you need to know about Black Friday 2025 and how to shop the best early Black Friday VPN deals.
When will Black Friday VPN deals start in 2025?
Officially, this year Black Friday starts on November 28th and ends on Cyber Monday on December 1st. But these are only official dates. Like many brands and retailers, Black Friday is getting earlier and earlier each year, and the deals are getting longer and longer each year.
Both Surfshark and NordVPN have started their Black Friday sales, and their subscription discounts don’t expire until December 10th, so you’ve got plenty of time to shop. Other providers including ExpressVPN, Proton VPN, CyberGhost and more are expected to join them soon as November approaches.
The best Black Friday VPN deals of 2025
If you want to pay the lowest possible price for a VPN, Black Friday is the best time to subscribe, as mentioned earlier, NordVPN and Surfshark have already dropped their best Black Friday deals, but what can you expect from other providers?
I hope to see ExpressVPN’s prices drop to the lowest prices I’ve seen this year. Earlier this summer, the VPN provider decided to introduce three new pricing tiers, meaning the starting price is much lower than before. I’m hoping to see a basic ExpressVPN subscription drop below £2 for the first time in the brand’s history.
Proton is also running deals on Black Friday, including on Proton VPN and its other security services. While Proton is almost certain to drop prices again this year, I don’t expect them to be significantly lower than what’s currently on offer. Right now, Proton VPN is cheaper than last Black Friday, so I can’t imagine it dropping much more. I’ll keep my eyes open though.
