Christina Applegate furious with ‘really sick’ people laughing at Los Angeles fires


Christina Applegate discusses the people who are happy about the fact that rich celebrities lost their homes in the Los Angeles fires.

During Tuesday’s (Jan. 14) episode of her MeSsy podcast with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Married… with children Allum said she is still waiting to see if she and her 13-year-old Sadie will need to evacuate. “There really aren’t words,” Sigler said of the fires that have displaced more than 100,000 people.

“You know what I’m talking about? *** People who say it’s good. This is Hollywood and that Hollywood is stupid. Like, you’ve got to be kidding me,” Applegate, who was diagnosed with MS in 2021 was

“We’re a small part of the city,” he added of the celebrities. “I mean, this is a city of people who hang out at fast food chains or, you know, builders and painters, and there are countless groups of people here. “I’m really sick and I don’t like it at all.”

Her co-host encouraged Applegate to “tune out” the comments, to which the actress replied, “I tuned it out because they’re ridiculous, but I’m calling them out right now.”

Sigler then weighed in on the situation, calling the people who live in Los Angeles “dreamers” who have all worked hard to get where they are in life.

And sure. Is there a group of people affected who have the ability to rebuild their lives?” Sigler said. I won’t say easily, but soon? Yes, and are there thousands more who literally don’t know where to start? “Yes, and we must keep both of them in our hearts.”

Applegate shared that at one point she and her daughter had to evacuate their home for a few days, and are prepared to evacuate again if needed.

“I just have a backpack … important papers and things that are important to you,” Applegate said of what she carries. “I tried to gather my style [but] “My daughter has, like, four suitcases, so I don’t know what’s going on there.”

Sigler said she’ll bring a few items from her grandmother, some artwork from her children, and her Screen Actors Guild award.

“It’s going to sound terrible, but my SAG Awards, because they’re a time and a memory and you can’t replace that,” she explained.

As of Tuesday (Jan. 14), more than 12,000 structures have been destroyed by fires across Los Angeles. More than 40,000 hectares have burned, at least 24 people have died and 23 others are missing.
