Daniil Medvedev vs Lennar Thien live score: Australian Open updates as Katie Boulter knocks out after Emma Raducano injury update

Novak Djokovic is training for the 2025 Australian Open under Andy Murray

The Australian Open continues with Emma Radukano booking a clash with second-seeded Iga Sviatek, but Katie Boulter is absent after losing in three sets to Veronika Kudermetova.

Britain’s No.1 bolter failed to reach the third round for the first time as Kudermistova faced off in a tight contest. Boulter looked to have found the momentum, but Kudermetova raised her level in the decider, winning 7-6 2-6 6-2.

Earlier, Radukano defeated Amanda Anisimwa 6-3 7-5 but struggled with more injury problems during the win. The 22-year-old struggled with pain in his lower back, but Roducano hopes it will be just a “minor blip” as his preparations for the tournament have been hampered by back spasms.

Suiatek, a five-time Grand Slam winner, needed just an hour to get through, setting up a blockbuster match against Raducano, whom he has yet to set against in three meetings.

Elsewhere, defending men’s champion Janik Sinner dropped his first set since October against Australian wildcard Tristan Skolkit, but the world No 1 recovered to win 4-6 6-4 6-1 6-3 became.

Last year’s runner-up Daniil Medvedev takes on American qualifier Lerner Thein, while Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca’s dream came to an end in his Grand Slam debut after losing to Lorenzo Sonego.

Either way, there now seems to be an inevitability to Medvedev’s victory. Tien seems to be fading fast.
