Tracy Cyrus has claimed that her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, took “legal action” against her.
The 35-year-old musician took to Instagram on Saturday (January 25) to continue his father’s claims amid the family rift. Her post comes days after she first asked Billy Ray for help, following the singer’s viral and “disastrous” performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
“Dad, my message was beyond loving,” Tris wrote. I could be very honest about a lot of other things, but I don’t want to put your business out there like that. But to threaten me with legal action for asking you for help is a disgrace.”
There were no further details on what the “legal action” entailed.
Tris then expressed how upset and disappointed she was with the “Old Town Road” singer, before again asking her for help.
He continued: You should be ashamed of yourself. I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man. Everyone close to you is afraid to tell you how they really feel. I am not Get help.”
Independent Billy Ray’s representatives have been contacted for comment.

As Trace dealt with the alleged legal action, Billy Ray’s other son Bryson – who produced his father’s recently announced album – also issued a statement about the family.

Tris admitted that her dad might be upset by her post, but he “really could care less,” adding: “The girls and I have been really worried about you for years, but you’ve just pushed us all away.”
Billy Ray and his ex, Tish Cyrus, have two daughters, Miley, 32, and Noah, 24. and a son, Bryson, 30. Billie Ray adopted Tish’s two children, Brandi, 37, and Tris, 35, from her previous marriage to Baxter Neal Helson. The country singer also has a 32-year-old son, Christopher, with ex-girlfriend Christine Lackey.
“We all cherish the memories of the man we once knew and hope for the day he returns,” Tris continued in her letter. You are not healthy, Dad, and everyone knows this. Just as I showed up for you at mamaws funeral, when you least expected me, I’m here now.”
A few days later, Billy Ray’s ex-wife Firoz – who he split from in June 2024 after eight months of marriage – also spoke out.
“What’s out in public now reflects a lot of what I experienced privately during our relationship,” she said.
