Apple has allowed the first pornography app to put on the iPhone.
Van Hot is marketed as a “adult content browser” that allows people to find and watch sex.
This type of content is still explicitly prohibited in accordance with the rules of the App Store. The restriction began with Steve Jobs, who said Apple had “moral responsibility” to keep the porn away from the iPhone.
But Apple was forced to make it available because of new European rules. The new EU digital market law requires that Apple allows users to use alternative program stores that do not have similar rules.
Distributed programs through those stores must be reviewed by Apple to ensure that they are not fraudulent, the security and performance of the iPhone as weakened. But otherwise it does not limit the type of content available through which stores are available.
This will allow the new pornography program – Van Hot – allows the alternative market to be available in Altstore Pal.
Apple said it would not confirm or approve the program and claims it will bring these risks to users in Europe.
“We are deeply concerned about the safety risks that porn programs create for EU users, especially kids,” Apple said in a statement. “This program and others, like that, will weaken the consumer’s self -esteem and confidence to our ecosystem that we have worked for more than a decade to get the best results in the world,” he said.
“Contrary to the false statements made by the market developer, we certainly do not approve this program and never present it in our program store. The truth is that we are obliged by the European Commission Distributed market operators such as Altstore and EPIC that may not share our concerns about user safety. ”
