The Olympic diver, Matt Lee, who won a memorable medal alongside Tom Dali in Tokyo 2020, retired at the age of 26.
Lee and Dolly won the 10 -meter -long coordinated platform for Gold, a result that ended Dolly’s long expectation for Gold at the first Olympics.
Born in the Leeds Olympics in Paris last year, Lee lost his spine in Paris because of his back -to -back injury.
He confirmed his retirement from diving in a post on Instagram and said of his gold medal alongside Dolly, “What a trip, what moment we shared. The Olympic champions forever.”
“After 20 years in sports, it’s time to get away from diving,” Lee said.
“This was not easy, but after losing my father in 2022, I tried to find the same passion I had before,” he said.
“Then the injuries, surgeries and the fact that I don’t want a broken man to move forward.”
“What is the next? Honestly, I don’t know, and this is terrible and exciting,” said Lee, along with a collection of photos of her diving profession, which included medals from the Commonwealth and World Championships.
“But I know that, there is more life than diving, and I’m ready for it.”
