Cat food remembers because of the possible pollution of bird flu

Another US -based cat brand has remembered its products because of the possibility of infection to the bird.

On Saturday, Wild Coast LLC DBA Wild Coast RAW announced a call for its frozen chicken formula for the cats.

According to a statement shared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the call is because pet food is infected with bird flu, also known as H5N1 HPAI HPAI.

The damaged products were created in 16 ounces or 24 ounces and were sold in pet food retailers in Washington and Oregon. The frozen products were placed in a small plastic container with a green label.

Cat food utensils can be identified with 22660, 22653, 22641, 22639, 22672 and 22664 and the best date of December 25th. The call also affects any “raw material that has similar production date and Lot codes similar to 22660 and 22664.”

The call began after the sampling by the Ministry of Agriculture, and showed: “The presence of the same H5N1 pressure in damaged cats and these products as well as sampling by the Ministry of Agriculture of Washington”.

Although no human infection has been determined, people who run this pet’s primary food “can be infected if the virus becomes a person’s eyes, nose or mouth.” The FDA calls for domestic animals with cat food “watch out of the symptoms of bird flu, including redness of the eye or burning (conjunctiva), cough, sore throat, sneezing, climate nose, and muscle and body pain.”

Wild Coast LLC DBA Wild Coast RAW wants anyone who has a call for the product immediately. They should also not feed any of their pets and can contact the store they bought this product for a complete refund.

The US Veterinary Medical Association had previously warned of the spread of bird flu over cats.

“Cats have already been susceptible to H5N1, although several cats are associated with chicken or exposed to wild birds before the outbreak of cows began,” the organization said in a statement on its website. “Cats appear to be especially susceptible to severe illness, which often leads to death. Whether contaminated cats can infect other cats are now unknown. However, this possibility cannot be rejected.”

The virus has shed tears throughout the United States in recent months, resulting in millions of birds, raising the price of eggs, infecting dozens of people and killing one in Louisiana. Researchers say H5N1 is unable to transfer from person to person, and health officials have insisted that the risk is mild to humans.

The latest call comes after Portland Pet Food Company, Northwest Naturals, in December, after the death of a cat, consumed a bunch of cat foods contaminated with bird flu. At that time, the company recalled its two -pound turkey cat recipe, which is raw frozen pet food.

According to ODA press statement, a laboratory laboratory carried out by the US Department of Agriculture and Oregon State University confirmed that the cat had contracting H5N1 and died after consuming raw frozen pet food. The tests also confirmed a genetic race between the virus in PET food and the cat infected virus.
