Britain is preparing to send soldiers to Ukraine as part of the “assurance force” if the peace agreement with Russia is reached, according to Downing Street.

Following the talks, Mr Trump said he had spoken directly with Vladimir Putin to launch meetings between the Russian leader and Mr. Zelnsky, who followed him with a trilateral meeting.
A spokesman for Downing Street said in a statement after the end of Tuesday’s meeting: “The coalition of the Mile’s planning team” will meet with its US counterparts in the coming days to provide more plans to provide strong security guarantees and prepare a confidence -assured force if the hostility ends.
Britain and France have committed to Ukraine if a deal ended in the war to open Mr Putin from a new attack on his neighbor.
The prime minister told European leaders on Tuesday that negotiations in Washington showed “the true sense of unity” and showed a “common goal of fair and lasting peace for Ukraine”.
“The leaders also discussed how more pressure – including through sanctions – could be put on Putin until he showed that he was ready to take serious steps to end his illegal invasion.”
