In resurfaced footage, Donald Trump praised Marjorie Taylor Green as a “wonderful” and “very smart” person.
On Friday (November 14), the US president described his longtime ally as a “crazy lunatic” and accused him of going “far left” as their rift deepened over the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Ms. Green accused the White House of a “huge miscalculation” in killing last-ditch efforts to release more files, and called Mr. Trump’s comments “astounding.” He accused her of going after him to set an “example to scare other Republicans” from voting against further Epstein revelations.
During a rally in South Carolina in February 2024, Mr. Trump said of Ms. Green: “If the timing is good, she’ll call me twice. She’s a wonderful person, a very smart person, very well-respected in Congress.”
