US government agencies are expected to access the artificial meta platform intelligence system, as the Trump administration is trying to integrate business AI business tools into federal operations.
The Public Services Office (GSA), the government’s purchase arm, plans to add Lama to its approved list for federal agencies.
Josh Gronbum, the GSA leader, said the approval guarantees that the free tool corresponds to the security and legal standards of the government and allows agencies to test it.
LLAMA is a large language model that is capable of processing data, including text, videos, images and sounds.
GSA has also signed Meta competitors in recent months, including Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Anthropic and AI.
The companies agreed to sell their products with sloping discounts and meet the government’s security requirements, GSA said.
Responding to the question of whether technology executives are giving government discounts to the government for the approval of President Donald Trump, GRUENBAUM said, “This is not in the job.”
“This is about how we are all locked in weapons and make it the best country.”
He said federal agencies will be able to deploy a tool to speed up a contract or faster IT hiccups, including other tasks.
