Voldimir Zelnski has accused Vladimir Putin of breaking the unilateral Easter ceasefire that the Russian president had declared just hours ago.
The Ukrainian president said the Russian artillery fire had not subsided, according to his senior commander, despite the fact that Mr Putin ordered his troops to pause from 6 pm today (4pm) until Monday.
Earlier today, the Russian president said he assumes that the Ukrainian side would follow up and stop hostility, adding that the Russian armed forces would be ready to repel “possible violations” by Ukraine.
However, Mr Zelnski wrote about X: “From now on, according to the commander -in -chief, the Russian attack is on several parts of the front line and the Russian artillery fire has not subsided.
“So, there is no confidence in words from Moscow.”
He recalled that Russia had rejected a full 30-day ceasefire in the United States last month and said that if Moscow agrees “really in the form of complete and unconditional silence, Ukraine would act accordingly-Russian mirror”.
This comes after US President Donald Trump has doubled on Washington’s threats to abandon negotiations aimed at broke the peace agreement if there was no sign of immediate progress.
