Scientists in the United States awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics to Detect Quantum Mechanics

The Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to a team of US -based scientists for its prominent discovery in quantum mechanics.

John Clark, Michelle H. Devoret and John M. Martinis earned 11 million Swedish kronor ($ 1.17 million) for their job.

Experiments of this triple showed that the strange laws and properties of the quantum world can have measurable effects on everyday science.

These discoveries include the development of a superconducting electrical system that can “tunnel” from one state to another. “Tunnel” is a process that passes through a ball instead of being shot.

Martinis, based at the University of California Santa Barbara, and his colleagues, initially conducted these tests in the 1980s, and their work was still used in today’s research.

Each of them is donated to gold medals by the Swedish king.

Both Martinis and Devoret, a French physicist at Yale University, had previously worked at Google Quantum AI to develop the company’s supercomputers.

Clark, a partner in the discovery of his Nobel Prize winner, is an English scientist based at the University of California in Berkeley. He described the victory as “surprise from my life”.

According to him, the three men were informed of their victory by phone. “I am completely amazed,” he said.

The winners of this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics were disclosed at the Swedish Royal Science Academy.

The Nobel Committee said when revealing the winners, “Today, no advanced technology has been used that does not rely on quantum mechanics, including cell phones, cameras … and fiber optic cables.”

“It is very interesting to be able to celebrate the method that the quantum mechanics of the century constantly presents new wonders,” said Olle Ericsson, chairman of the Nobel Prize in Physics Committee. “It is also very useful because quantum mechanics is the basis of all digital technologies.”

“Our discovery, in some ways, is the basis of quantum calculations,” Clark added.

Quantum mechanics is to study how light and matter behaves on atomic and subterranean scale.
