The founder of Spotify, Daniel EK, is set to leave the executive role and give the top position to two deputies in the music giant.
Mr. EK will change from the role of the Executive from January 1.
This comes after artists pulled their music catalogs out of Spotify in protest of the founder’s investment in a German military drone.
A widespread attack earlier this month pulled out its music from the platform because Mr EK’s investment vehicle led to an important budget period for AI AI Helsing.
On Tuesday, Spotify said that President and President and Senior Product and Technology Officer Gustav Soderstrom are working as a manager next year.
They report to Mr. EK after shaking the leadership.
Mr EK Spotify in 2008 and hired his rapid expansion to become more than 276 million subscribers in 184 markets.
“I always believe that Spotify can play an important role in revolutionary listening to the world, and with over 700 million users, we have really drawn a new era that gives creativity to every corner of the world,” he said.
“Over the past few years, I have changed a large portion of Spotify’s daily management and strategic direction to Alex and Gustav-who have formed the company since our first days, and now they are more ready to guide our next stage,” he said.
“This change simply matches the titles of how we work.”
“The Board of Directors has been working with Daniel for many years to evolve Spotify’s leadership structure,” said Woody Marshall, the independent director of the SPOTIF board.
“We have great confidence in Alex and Gustav that they come into these roles.”
