A luxury sleeper train will launch a new route from Paris to the Amalfi Coast next May.

Administered by Belmond Venice Simplon-Orient-Express It will wind along the French and Italian Rivieras on its inaugural four-day journey.

Built in the 1920s and 1930s, the train’s luxurious carriages harken back to the “Golden Age” of rail travel.

While not on the rails, passengers will enjoy a scenic boat tour, a private guided tour of Pompeii, and cooking classes with local experts.

Guests then check in for two nights at Caruso, an 11th-century Belmond palace in Ravello. The highlights of this luxurious hotel are the original frescoes and vaulted ceilings, while the private suites overlook unspoiled Amalfi views.
