Tottenham face Newcastle in their Premier League opener as the hosts look to pick up the three points they need to ease some of the pressure around Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs start the new year in 11th place, with questions looming over the Australian after a string of poor results, although they remain in contention for the League Cup and European places in 2025.
Newcastle, meanwhile, had a similar start to the season, but found their form before the end of the year, with four straight wins to finish fifth and among the Champions League contenders next season.
It will also be Thomas Tuchel’s first Premier League game since taking charge of England on January 1. The German will watch the likes of Anthony Gordon and James Maddison as he takes his place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
