“Eight out of 10 black women” and “Seven out of 10 white women” who experience fibroids at some point in their lives, she added.

Despite how common the disease is, Nyong’o said the community is not talking enough about it, or in general women’s reproductive health.
“When we get into puberty, we are taught that courses mean pain and this pain is simply part of being a woman,” she wrote. “I started talking about my experience privately, and I realized that many women do it. We alone with something that affects us more.

“I anticipate the future with basic training for adolescents, better screening protocols, strong preventive research and less aggressive treatments for uterine fibroids,” he wrote. “Let’s study women’s health and prioritize this chronic disease that has never been comprehensively studied.”
Nyong’o explained that she has joined a series of Democratic Congress and Senators to introduce a “package of cervical fibroids”, which “expands the research budget, increases premature increases and interventions for uterine fibers, examines the causes of cervical cancer and generally.”
