The spectacular consequences of Elon Mask and Donald Trump can have catastrophic consequences for the future of space travel.
The two men-the president and the person who previously referred to themselves as the “first friend”-have been a celebrity fight that they have seen in public threats and claims about each other.
Many of these comments are related to their personality and personal history. But one of the most important moments seems to be that Mr Trump seems to be able to cancel Mr Musk’s government contracts.
“The easiest way to save money on budget, billions of dollars and a billion dollars, is to terminate government subsidies and Elvan contracts. I always wondered that Biden hadn’t done it!” He wrote on the social platform of his truth.
Mr Musk wrote soon afterwards: “According to the President’s statements about the cancellation of my government contracts, Spacex will immediately start evacuating his dragon spacecraft.” (Soon afterwards, he wrote that we “don’t destroy the dragon”, though it was not yet clear that each post was considered.)
This argument caused the outburst – and not only because of its tone. Mr Mashak was warned by ARS Technica journalist Eric Berger that his threat “ended both at the International Space Station and at the same time provides no way to secure it”, in a tweet that responded to it. The consequences of the US and world plan to discover space can be even wider.
As Mr Berger’s posts stated, Mr Musk’s threat to destroy the dragon could endanger the International Space Station. Now, this is the only way the United States can safely send astronauts into space and bring them back down. Finally, Spacex is expected to build the spacecraft to remove the international space station from the orbit and a fiery ending, after its life was completed in 2030.
But its consequences can be much wider. NASA, Spacex, and others have been clear that the final program is to focus on the orbit of the Earth as the ISS is visualized, and more space. First, this means the return of astronauts to the moon and then, finally, they hope, to Mars.
These missions are likely to depend on Spacex. The company has worked hard at its future Starship, which is designed to explicitly colonize Mars.
Following the termination of the space shuttle program, much of the Spacex domination of the space travel can return to a moment. The space shuttle was intended to start a new trip to the reusable spacecraft and relatively simple flights to space, but deadly disasters, high costs and other problems meant the end of 2010.
This left the United States without the ability to send astronauts to space and depended on Russia for a decade to do so. In 2020, the Spacex dragon has taken the astronauts into orbit and has become a regular visitor since then.
As a result, NASA strongly relies on Spacex dragon. The confidence may be clear earlier this year, when Starliner Boeing – who intended to be a dragon rival – was suffering from technical issues on the way to the space station and the crew had to return to a Spacex spacecraft.
If Mr Trump had heal from his threat to cancel these programs, or Mr Musk did the same with his suggestion that could complete the dragon program, all of this would be at risk. Given how Central Spacex has become those programs, this will be at risk for us by ISS, Moon and Mars.
