Home Minister says the freedom of protest is a “stoning of democracy”
Prior to today’s demonstrations against the ban on Palestinian action, the administration of the Interior said that the group’s prescription as a terrorist organization would not affect “the freedom to protest against Palestinian rights.”
A spokesman for the home office said on Saturday: “The interior minister was clear that the Palestinian action is not related to Palestine and does not affect the freedom of protest against Palestinian rights.
“It only applies to a specific and slim organization whose activities do not reflect thousands of people across the country or represent their fundamental rights to protest various issues,” he said.
“Freedom of protest is the cornerstone of our democracy and we are strongly protecting it.”
